Love a challenge!

We all love a challenge so, when Eva asked me if I could make an emo doll I did. Unfortunately the colours in the photo are not that clear.
She doesn't have a name yet but I am working on it. Emo kid has black and white stripe socks and top and a burgundy skirt.
She is wearing a neckband with a green heart and a camo bag with green flower detail and on sholder strap there is a skull. She has black hair with a burgundy streak in her fringe. She is inspired by the Gorjuss pictures and a girl at my son's school (didn't get the name!).
Not sure whether she is for sale yet but I am working on a dress, more accessories etc. so she can have a change of clothing.

Post Easter Holidays

Hi, I have been so busy with the kids over the last two weeks, Easter Holidays, that I haven't had time to blog at all!
Here is my latest effort. Emo pixie hats. Black and white pixie hat with red bow details and cherries detail. My little girl looks cute in hers and Eva looks quite cute in hers also!
Hope you like them.

Bunny Ballerina

These are my newest project. Inspired by a poem that I used to read Cameron at bedtime called Lizzy Longears the bunny ballerina (sorry Cam!). Made out of pink and white and lemon and white baby dk wool. They have striped legs and arms. Also they each are wearing a little pinafore dress with white cotton trim. I think they are sweet looking and I haven't shown them to my daughter for that reason. Hope you think the same.
Mouse to follow (watch this blog).

My weekend!

My weekend consisted of work and making these two little items. The little bag is claret and black striped (not good in photo) and the cherries on the front are red buttons and crochet stalks. The other is an applique brooch in black and white with a large crystal bead in the middle on a brass pin (made to order).
My family, however, had great fun at a Judo Club Dance. By the way who is that dancing with my daughter?

Mickey Marmalade

Here is my latest animal blankee. Mickey Marmalade (ode to my brother-in-law David!) is the latest in a long long line of blankees. He is made from gorgeous soft and chunky mixed ginger/brown wool. I saw this wool in a little shop in the village near to where I live and immediately it made me think of a large ginger cat. So what could I do but rush it home and transform it into the aforementioned blankee.
Hope you like it.

Hello Kitty Project

This is my latest project. My daughter Amelia is very keen on Hello Kitty. I have made this little Hello Kitty with a blue top and lilac skirt. She also has a little pink and yellow flower in her fur. I am not sure I can wait until Easter to give this to her as she will go mad when she sees it.

Punk/Goth Bat Blankee

Well Eva, Here it is the long awaited punk/goth bat blankee. Made up in emperor purple and black dk wool with handy pocket on the front for "didees". The photo doesn't show but the eyes are claret in colour and the edges of the lower wings are picot to look like real bat wings.
What more could the self respecting punk/goth baby need but it's own "scary" bat blankee. Hope all you punks like it!

Red and Black Emo Punk Cat

Monday again, can't believe the days go so quickly and it is March already. I was commissioned to make another emo/punk cat and I did this over the weekend. I love it in red and black. Hopefully the girl who receives it as a present will love it too. I am in the process of designing a bat blankee. When my son Cameron told me this was a good idea I said umm... who would want a bat for their baby? His first answer was Eva!!!!

Friday 6 March 2009

This my daughter Amelia dressed as Portia the Pirate Princess on World Book Day for school. Thanks to Eva for the pirate jacket and to Cameron for making Squark the parrot out of an old sock and some feathers and also the hat. She's too cute!!!

Tuesday 3 March 2009

Have a look at this. It's my son Cameron's animation called Egg Wrestling. What goes on inside the mind of an artistic 15 yr old. Not sure whether myself or my husband take responsibility for the eclectic music choice!!!!

Emo Cat

Monday again, I have uploaded a photo of my Emo cat the colours and stripes don't look that great in the photo but the purple is really a lovely rich emperor purple and with the black makes the perfect emo statement. I have made this cat in black and white as well which looks equally good. Maybe more pirate than emo in black though! I was really pleased to sell some of my items to a local craft shop and also have started selling on Ebay again. Keep fingers crossed for future.

Friday 27 February 2009

Good Morning, Here is a little bag that I made yesterday. The design is based on a yellow tulip which hopefully will remind everyone that Spring is on its way! I have made this bag in a lovely purple colour which unfortunately does not look detailed enough in a photo. You can easily fit a cream egg inside and that is just what I will be doing for Easter presents.

Thursday 26 February 2009

Getting ready for Easter and I am busy making egg cosies for all the family and friends. This is the newest addition, lamb chop. He is made from black and white acrylic wool so can be washed if he gets egg on his face! These little egg cosies don't take very long to make but like most of my creations there is always someone in my family, usually Amelia, who wants the one that I have just crocheted. I will just have to keep going and as the weather is terrible again I will be making stuff all day today.

Wednesday 25 February 2009

As I am still hopping about like Peg leg Pete after my ankle injury I went crochet mad yesterday and produced these two little cuties. Pink and white bunny blanket square and blue and white cotton bunny blanket square. They are soft and just the right size for little hands to cuddle. Also I have a confession I was a "blankee" child and would have loved one of these myself. There I have said it out loud................

Tuesday 24 February 2009

Hi, This is my latest toy. A cute little lavendar and primrose coloured dragon. My daughter, Amelia, insists that she is a garden dragon that helps out fairies with flowers coloured lavendar and yellow. Amelia has two of these dragons, one in green which is also a garden dragon and one in red which is her fire dragon. Both now live in the bed with all the other little toys that I have made for her. Hope you like it.

Eggtastic!

Hi, today it is raining and miserable so I thought I would add another blog to my page. This is an emo egg cosy that was designed by me and the inspiration was taken from my son, Cameron. I have an emo cat cosy and also make an emo cat which I first designed and made for my friend Eva as a little girl's gift for a friend of hers. This one is blue and denim in colour and the emo cat is black and purple.

Daffodil Handbag

Here is my little girls favourite the "daffodil" bag. I have designed and made this little handbag for little girls who love everything cute and flowery. It is only small 20cm x 13cm including the handle but large enough for little treasures or some small easter eggs.

My daughter really helped me with the colours for this little bag and the daffodil has two different yellows and a lovely amber button in the centre.

Hopefully you will all like my items and seek them out on ebay.
This is one of my egg cosy designs. Handcrafted crochet my me and a little bit of fun for Easter or Mother's Day. Fortunately I have a very artistic son, Cameron and a very girly little daughter, Amelia who are my inspiration for my craft items.
I make other egg cosies including bunnies, lambs, chicks plus with my son's influence candy skull, emo rabbit and emo cat.
Photos of some of my other designs will be uploaded when I get the hang of my blog. I also make little bags and toys. Some of which I will be displaying on this blog for anyone who might be interested!
